What is a lichen? Guaranteed you’ll be surprised and challenged by virtual speaker Trevor Goward’s complex answers to that seemingly simple question. Goward is a B.C.-based writer, thinker, naturalist and maverick lichenologist (yes, that is a thing). His central is idea that how you see lichen depends on how you see the world. This has far-reaching implications for understanding plants, animals and the connectedness of things. Yep, lichens are serious business and Trevor’s not mossing around. Virtual talk to last 45 minutes, live Q&A with Trevor to follow. Event offered in English only.

There are two easy (and free!) ways to participate:

  1. Are you in Yellowknife? Come by the PWNHC to catch the talk streaming in our auditorium, and arrive early to see the Covered Ground: Landscapes and Lichen contemporary art exhibit to get in the mindset of thinking creatively about the macroscopic world!
